Co-Chair
Dr. Monika Patel, cofounder of Lookout Valley Greenway Alliance, fell in love with Chattanooga over a decade ago. It’s natural beauty, sense of community, and ever-evolving potential propel her into community engagement and activism.
She believes in the power of multimodal pathways and greenspaces to elevate communities from health, economic, and environmental standpoints. She is a mother, entrepreneur, and an actively practicing physical therapist.

Doug Carlson
Co-Chair
Doug moved to Chattanooga with his wife Carolyn in 2016, primarily for the size, location, quality of life and outdoor recreation, including cycling, climbing, paddling and hiking. There they built a net zero energy home, as Doug feels compelled to work toward restoring a safe climate and livable planet in all ways possible. He is a member of SORBA and green|spaces, serving on the Green Communities Committee, and has been active in the climate solutions and trails development advocacy since coming to town.
