Dear Mayor Kelly and Greenway Task Force,

I am reaching out to advocate for improved Greenways through and to Lookout Valley/Tiftonia.

Geographically, we are a gateway into the city from all eastbound traffic. What better messaging for Chattanooga's highly publicized outdoor values than to have the first two exits prior to entering downtown offer interconnected, safe, well-marked and inclusive greenways?

There is currently no safe way for Lookout Valley/Tiftonia Residents to commute to or from the valley except by car.

Additionally, the valley area is a mecca for frequently visited outdoor activities on Raccoon Mountain, at Reflection Riding, Etna Mountain, Lookout Mountain, and it only makes sense to connect them all through an inclusive, accessible greenway system so that all community members, especially those who live in Alton Park, St. Elmo, and South Broad areas can better enjoy these Chattanooga gems.

If Northshore, Redbank, and St. Elmo can do it, we can, too!

Thank you for putting together a team to increase our city's interconnectedness and greenway accessibility. I truly believe that Greenways improve a community's social, economic, and environmental health and as a resident of Lookout Valley, I would love to see slow-transit infrastructure boost our growing community and improve connectivity with the city at large.
