Our Mission
Extend Chattanooga’s Riverwalk 2.5 miles around the base of Lookout Mountain, creating a scenic and immersive gateway into our National Park City.
Our Vision
Connect Lookout Valley together and with the surrounding communities, including North Chattanooga, St. Elmo, Alton Park and the larger region, with an inclusive, multi-use greenway system resulting in economic, social, environmental and health benefits for all Chattanooga and surrounding residents and visitors
Greenway and “Linear Park” Possibilities
Below is a preliminary map of potential greenway connections from the existing Riverwalk to Lookout Valley that could connect new and existing destinations, including Reflection Riding, future park property at Cummings Bottom, and the coming development at The Bend and South Broad (New Lookouts Stadium) districts. Our goal is to get a Feasibility Study funded that would result in a much more robust and complete greenway plan, ideally in conjunction with the TDOT project to widen I-24.
Elevated Greenway around Moccasin Bend
The image below depicts one viable solution to installing the greenway in the tight space between I-24 and the Tennessee River from Lookout Creek to the west around to Chattanooga Creek (or further to Tannery Flats) to the east. Similar installations have been completed in other locations with success, and we feel it is the best solution here.
